The Fairfield House Hotel's guests enjoy excellent cuisine and comfort in our atmospheric, award-winning Martinis Bar & Grill.

It has gained two rosettes from the AA for its cuisine. This accolade has been held for a number of years now and we are proud to maintain these high standards.

Our head chef, Charles Hilton, uses fresh local seasonal produce cooked in a traditional manner but with a modern theme. We also offer traditional favourites such as Freshly caught Fish and Chips, Homemade Burgers and a wide range of Buccleuch Foods steaks.

In the warmer months, al fresco dining and drinking is available on our new terrace which has stunning sea views over to Arran.

Bedrooms:

All of our 44 en-suite bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated to the highest standard. The hotel offers a blend of traditional and the more modern, with additional facilities including air conditioning (15 rooms) and telephone modem points for internet access. Wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel for a small fee.

A small selection of our rooms offer sea-views over to Arran. Availability of these Superior rooms is limited and they can be booked for a small supplement. These rooms are extremely large with high ceilings, they also have large bathrooms.

Facilities:

Fairfield House Hotel Leisure Club provides its own well-equipped gymnasium, plus an indoor heated swimming pool complete with spa bath, sauna and steam room.

We also offer beauty treatments in Ayr from Lynn Turnbull in The Retreat at Fairfield House Hotel. Lynn offers a full range of facial treatments, massage, make-up, nail treatments, waxing and eye treatments.

Local Attractions:

Ayrshire is well placed to offer the visitor plenty of things to do. It has a wide range of visitor attractions across the county and Castles and historic trails abound with many famous sites of interest and ruins to be explored and an abundance of family attractions and outdoor sports facilities.

History and heritage loom large with a list including the very splendid Culzean Castle, nearby Dundonald Castle and other country parks and castles at Kelburn and Dean. Robert Burns was born in nearby Alloway and there are now attractions showcasing his life and works and in May every year a festival of the arts, Burns an' a" That, celebrates his influence.

For the Burns enthusiast or even just the casual visitor a trip to the Burns National Heritage Park is a must. You can enjoy the audio-visual interpretation of Tam O'Shanter Experience before strolling along the road to visit Burns Cottage. Continue the experience with a visit to Souter Johnnie's Cottage or the Bachelor's Club and view the magnificent Brig O' Doon, next to the former Burns Monument Hotel.

For the family how about the Heads of Ayr Farm Park, Vikingar, Loudoun Castle Theme Park or experience a bit of industrial heritage at the Scottish Maritime Museum.

Family leisure centres include The Magnum, Galleon Leisure Centre and The Citadel in Ayr. Other outdoor and sporting facilities include the Newmilns Snow Centre which is about fifteen minutes from Kilmarnock and offers dry slope skiing and snowboarding facilities.
